6 Months!

We're 6 months along, and Baby Noel is frisky as ever! I'm feeling good, although I'm slipping back into my after work napping stage. I'm also hungrier. The baby can hear our voices, so we have been talking more and more to him. We have a lot to do before he arrives! We took a tour of the hospital last week (Eden Medical Center, Castro Valley), and that got us excited. While there we saw our doctor, who was on call. She is great, we love her.

We start classes in August. So far, we're signed up for Childbirth Preparation, Breastfeeding, Childbirth Without Medication, and Car Seat Safety. I am not planning on natural childbirth, but I think the Childbirth Without Medication class will be a good class in conjunction with the Preparation class.

We are starting to collect hand-me-downs and loaner items for the baby. If you have anything to donate, please let me know, we welcome all offers!

22 weeks

Here we are...22 weeks, in my Happy Bunny PJ's! The cartoon I'm holding was drawn a few weeks ago at a festival. *Click on the pic to see it in detail*

Baby Noel is doing great, kicking and squirming around more and more every day. He kicks a lot while I eat, almost in excitement. I wonder if that means he's gonna love food! haha. I have been really good about drinking water, with the help of my husband :) I'm up to about 1.5 - 2L a day.
We have begun name brainstorming. We will probably find some that we love and go to the top of the list, and then decide on his name once he is born. It's a serious thing to name a human being. We are not taking this lightly!

Jamaal completed the AIDS walk in San Francisco this weekend. He walked 6.3 miles in the name of this devastating disease.

Grape Kool Aid

Happy Monday-

I like to call this my "Grape Kool Aid Pitcher" look, cuz that's what I thought of when I saw myself in this top! MMMM Kool Aid sounds good right now...

We had a good weekend. Jamaal is getting over a nasty cold, please send healing vibes his way. Saturday night, Baby Noel had a dance party in my belly. Whenever he would kick (bust a dance move), I put my hand over the location to see if I could feel it from the outside. He was jamming so hard that I actually felt several kicks from the outside for the first time! I called Jamaal. He came over and I put his hand where mine was and he felt his son for the first time. It was a light tap, but he felt it. YAY! Go Baby Boy Noel!

Bouncing Baby Boy!

It's a Boy! We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday. Our technician was really good, she got some good images of our boy, even though he was doing karate through the whole ultrasound. Maybe it was the Ruby Red Grapefruit juice I drank beforehand, thinking it would help him move around and show us what he's got. This picture is his "Alfred Hitchcock"profile. I think he looks like Jamaal. :o)

Happy July!

It's July already, how the year has flown by! Jamaal and I spent the weekend with great friends in Lake Tahoe. We had a ball playing board games (Pictionary, Scrabble, Dominoes, etc), having a bunch of laughs with the other three couples, laying in the sun and drinking at night (water or Sprite for me!). It was a good getaway...might be the only one we'll be able to take before Baby Noel arrives. We get more and more excited every day. I'm now 20 weeks- halfway there! We'll find out if Baby Noel is a boy or girl in 3 days!!!
